Ok so not really… but my latest lime concoction calls for cocktails.
J picked a whole bucket of limes and I had to think of something to do with them. So I thought about how great limes are in cocktails, soda water and recently I’ve even just been putting them straight into the bottom of my drink bottle with a sprig of rosemary.
I chopped about half the bucket into wedges, about half the bucket into flat half circles and juiced enough to fill two ice trays.
With the lime pieces I placed them on a baking tray with baking paper in the freezer, so they wouldn’t freeze in one big clump. once they had frozen individually, then I just chucked them all into a ziplock bag.
We now have ziplock bags of wedges, slices, and ice cubes.
Such great addition to our freezer food!
Oh, I’d love a freezer full of lime wedges and lime juice! Lucky you!

Well anytime you want some you can just pop on over! They’ve been great so far, we’ve used them a lot.

What a great idea! I always have lemon in my water – and this is a great way to store them. I’m going to have to do this, a very neat ‘trick’
PS I love your new header!

Thanks, the header is fun, it’s actually my own hand writing! I alway put lime in my drink bottle as well. So it’ll be handy to do that when we run out of limes on the tree.

One can never have too many limes! One of my favorite flavors, particularly in cocktails. 😉 And Key Lime Pie. Great idea – thanks so much.

I always tend to need limes and lemons but don’t always have fresh ones on hand so great idea putting some in the freezer! 😀

It’s been great! The best thing is that I know the frozen cubes are 2 tablespoons each.

This is a great idea. I love to have fresh limes on hand but often they can be very pricey. Buying them when they’re reasonably priced and doing this with them is such a good idea xx

I can’t believe they cost $1 each, sometimes $2 at the supermarket! It’s really great to have them so accessible!
